Delta County - Little Bay De Noc

This is the World Famous Walleye Fishery. It is a commonplace for 10 to 12 pound Walleyes and is regularly visited by famous Walleye anglers including the P.W.T. Professional Walleye Trail. There are also large Yellow Perch, Splake, Smallmouth Bass, King Salmon and alot of many other species of fish. The Bay is frequented by locals and visitors from anglers from all over the United States and the entire Walleye season is utilizied. Fall and ice-up seasons can land you the wall-mounter you've been dreaming of. There are also many places you can catch trophy Smallmouth Bass, they have been caught up to 7 pounds here.

Delta County - Main Branch Escanaba River (designated trout stream)

The Escanaba River is the only designated trout stream in Delta and holds 3 species of trout. Rainbow Trout,Brown Trout and Brook Trout. Rainbows grow to 22 inches and are the most common species on the main branch. Brown Trout can also reach 22" and are the next common species found here. Brook Trout are an uncommon species in most areas of the main branch, but are found in a few places with regularity in spring and are caught up to 18 inches. This is an artificial only area, no live bait and 2 trout daily limit and is a phenomenal fly-fishing destination. Brook Trout must be 10 inches to keep, Browns have to be 12 inches and Rainbows must also be 12 inches. Browns and Rainbows on average are larger than the limit here.

Delta County - Round Lake

It is said if you are ever blown off of or afraid of Little Bay De Noc, go to Round Lake for Walleyes. Walleyes are found throughout this body of water in great numbers. Although you won't catch a 10 pounder here, you will catch alot of Walleyes from 12 inches to 25 inches. There are also larger Yellow Perch and big Northern Pike here as well.

Dickinson County - Gene's Pond

Gene's Pond holds an astounding number of species in great size and in large quantity. This large body of water should not be called a pond, although it is man-made. Yellow Perch are the only species that do not grow to large sizes. Perch are plentiful even after ice-up and grow up to 10 inches. Largemouth Bass are the usual target species at Gene's and have been caught over 7 pounds. Catching 2 to 4 pound fish is very common here, as are good numbers of bass. Black Crappies can be found here up to 15 inches. Slab Crappies are found in sunken timber near dusk. Bluegills and Pumkinseed Sunfish grow to outstanding sizes at Gene's Pond, specimens have been caught at 11 inches recently. These panfish are constantly caught from 8 to 9 inches. Catching you limit of nice panfish in an attainable task in Gene's Pond.

Dickinson County - Groveland Mine Pond

Here is a good Largemouth Bass Pond. It has unbelievable Yellow Perch population during ice-up, and these fish are hefty and are found up to 15 inches. There are also Northern Muskellunge, Bluegills, Black Crappies and Walleyes here as well.

Dickinson County - West Branch Escanaba River

In this remote area of the Escanaba you will find wild, native Brook Trout. These fish are found in great numbers most of the year and are caught up to 16 inches. Besides being the most beautiful of the trout species in the Upper Peninsula, they are the most sought after by Trout Anglers.

Dickinson County - Twin Falls Flowage (bad water area)

This islanded area of the Menominee River holds some of the best Black Crappie action you can imagine. They are found in large numbers and grow to an amazing 16 inches. Northern Pike, Smallmouth Bass, Largemouth Bass and Muskies are also found here.

Marquette County - Greenwood Reservoir

In Greenwood you will find Large Bass, of both Large and Smallmouth Bass. This is a large body of water with lots of logs and sunken timber which provides excellent cover for the bass found here. Greenwood Reservoir is large and has lots of deadheads, care must be taken while fishing here. Slow trolling to move from place to place and a map is also a plus.

Gogebic County - Lac Vieux Desert

Lake of the Desert still holds the "World Record" Tiger Musky at 53 pounds. Some people claim that the next record will come this very place. This lake is roughly 4,300 acres. Be careful of windy days here, they can be very dangerous. Tigers are still caught in the 30 and 40 pound class here. I have personally had a follow from a 35 pound Tiger Musky. If you have any heart conditions I do not reccomend fishing here. This lake borders both Michigan and Wisconsin but either license will suffice.

Baraga County - Coon Lake

Coon is a great Largemouth Bass fishery. Excellent numbers of Largies reside here, as do large fish ranging up to 7 pounds. This is a portage/carry-on lake and is located in scenic, rocky, mountainlike country. You could fish this lake 30 straight days and possibly see no others fishing.

Iron County - Paint River (paint pond area)

Paint Pond has decent numbers of large Muskellunge. They are easily found up to the 30 pound class. This is also a boundary water which is met by the Brule River. Late summer and fall can bring you a Muskellunge you will never forget.

Iron County - Paint River

The Paint is located in the Crystal Falls area of Michigan's Upper Peninsula. This scenic, slow-moving river contains good numbers or big muskies. Both Tiger and Northern Muskellunge species are caught here with regularity. Esox are typically caught here in morning and evening hours and range from 15 to 30 pounds although there are larger fish here. The Paint River is a somewhat unfished resource, rarely ever do locals hunt down these giant freshwater predators.

Iron County - Lake Emily

Lake Emily is the best lake to fish if you want to catch a Muskellunge. Northern and Tiger Muskies are found here. Common catches range from 35 to 40 inches. Although 20 to 25 pound fish are not uncommon. We guarantee you will see fish here! This lake is a great fishery, Muskies are regularly caught here by anglers. Walleyes, perch, bass and panfish are readily found here. Lake Emily is a healthy and populated by many species of fish. Our first trip here, a first time Musky angler boated his first ever Muskellunge, then 5 more!
